One of the pillars of Dewey International University is Community Service Learning

Teaching English to AIDS orphans and poor children at the TTA center. The idea behind CSL is that students can learn by helping others. At DIU, CSL is built directly into the curriculum of the courses. For example, English language students can improve their English by teaching others. DIU works with local NGOs to place students in projects that are beneficial to both the students and the NGOs. For example, DIU has signed a memorandum (MOU) with the local NGO Tean Thor Association (TTA), who run their “Acts of Compassion Center” in Chrey Village, outside Battambang. The Center engages in several activities, such as teaching English to AIDS orphans and other poor children, training at-risk girls in sewing skills, caring for HIV+ patients who transit the center while receiving medicine, and teaching music to teenagers for income generation.
