Vision: The Foundation Year Program is committed to providing students with a high-quality, basic university education.
Mission: The mission of the Foundation Year is to prepare students for further specialized university study and for future employment.
Goals: Within the overall context of the DIU Mission statement, the Goals of the Foundation Year are as follows:
All students must take the same set of eight foundation year courses. In addition, each student must complete two ‘oriented courses’ related to the student’s major discipline. Upon completion of the Foundation Year, each student will receive a Foundation Year certificate, which will enable the student to continue with further study. Students may not proceed to further study without the FY certificate.
