DIU, in its desire to create locally relevant materials for its programs, has produced the book “Jataka Stories”, which uses stories of the Buddha’s previous lives as English language teaching materials. On 1 June 2010, students visited Wat Pachaa in Battambang to see paintings of the Jataka stories mentioned in their book. They asked local monks questions about the stories and added to their knowledge of both English and Buddhism.
